For more then 30 years Farm Aid has been standing tall to support family farmers. Farm Aid works year round to build a system of agriculture that values family farmers, good food, soil and water, as well as building strong communities. The annual music festival celebrates farmers, eaters and music coming together for change!
Hartford CT is host to this years Farm Aid and we at DIG Farm could not be more elated at how close the event will be on Saturday. As always an amazing line up of performers will be there to support this farm-tastic event. Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Mathews & Tim Reynolds, Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, Kacey Musgraves, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Marco Price, Lucas Nelson & Promise of Real and Particle Kid. Go to farmaid.org and get your tickets, its never to late to make a difference!
There are so many reason we make efforts to be apart of Farm Aid. First and foremost would have to be building a network with amazing farmers and those that support farming community. Events like this that bring like minded people together, are what build the type of energy to get the winds of change blowing. If there's one thing I've learned about the members of the farming community is that they are genuine, down to earth people that build relationships with others to stand the test of a lifetime. Another reason is honestly to just show support in everything that we value as both a non for profit and the individuals that we are that make up DIG Farm.
Last night on Getting Dirty Farm Aids Director of Communications Jennifer Fahy interviewed with Allison and Iwona. It was a pleasure having her out to Hudson River Radio again this year to discuss all the amazing things going on with the organization. You can catch the replay of the show from Monday night at 6 pm on Tuesday mornings at 8 am on hudsonriverradio.com, and with a listing of previous shows as well.
Our hope is that everyone reading will come out this Saturday and help us support a truly imperative cause, supporting our local farmers.
