We are D.I.G.ging into the community are growing new partnerships
June 21, 2019
In addition to expanding our presence on our North Salem property, D.I.G. Farm is so excited to be a part of programs within our community!
This year we teamed up with Westchester Land Trust (WLT) and The Community Center of Northern Westchester to grow vegetables for our neighbors in need. Nearly 2,000 families from 36 Westchester communities relied on The Community Center in 2018 for more than 119,000 pounds of fresh fruit and vegetables, half of which were grown locally. Allison will manage WLT's Sugar Hill Farm this growing season and recently helped coordinate a corporate volunteer day with Morgan Stanley.
Allison is also working closely with a garden on the grounds of The New York School for the Deaf, in White Plains, NY. These projects, along with the groups and events D.I.G. Farm hosts, are strengthening our mission of Reconnecting Communities to the Natural Good of the Farm.
