The following is taken from Starbucks' website:
To inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time.
With our partners, our coffee and our customers at our core, we live these values:
Creating a culture of warmth and belonging, where everyone is welcome.
Acting with courage, challenging the status quo and finding new ways to grow our company and each other.
Being present, connecting with transparency, dignity and respect.
Delivering our very best in all we do, holding ourselves accountable for results.
We are performance driven, through the lens of humanity."
When a group of Starbucks partners (employees) began planning the company’s 40th anniversary, it was clear to them the celebration needed to be a manifestation of the above. Starbucks Global Month of Service was born. Throughout April, the company celebrates its partners’ daily commitment to improving their local neighborhoods by shining a spotlight on service for 30 consecutive days. During the month, partners around the world lead service projects and invite other partners, customers and community members to volunteer with them.
Being a company that relies on an agricultural product, it was only natural that Starbucks' partners would be excited to help out on a local organic farm; and for the last four years, DIG Farm has been blessed to host an Earth Day event to reap the benefits of our partners in dealing in good!
