We are excited about our new initatives!

Last season we introduced the Westchester Local Food Project Initiative. WLFP connects schools, community gardens, local farmers and the community to help rebuild a new, sustainable, inclusive and healthy local food system.

This season we are thrilled to add another initiative, The Access Nature Project that brings the benefits of Nature to those traditionally overlooked in outdoor programming.

Kids Gardening

D.I.G. Sprouts  Homeschool Program

We are proud to be in partnership with For The People and Kids

to bring an immersive farm educational experience for kids 4-12

Embark on an extraordinary educational journey with our Homeschooling program in the upcoming 2024 season. Uncover the enchanting wonders of nature through our carefully crafted sessions, where learners engage in hands-on experiences and sensory adventures, forging a profound connection with the environment.

Nestled against the breathtaking backdrop of D.I.G. Farm, our program unfolds within a natural outdoor classroom, fostering a unique and elevated learning atmosphere. Immerse yourself in a thoughtfully designed curriculum that inspires exploration, cultivating an authentic passion for nature. Our overarching goal is to foster a deep understanding of sustainable living through immersive and motivating experiences.

Budding Gardeners: A Kids Spring Herb Garden Program

Saturdays, June 15, 22, and 29

 2 PM - 3:30 PM

Embark on a green-thumb adventure with our exciting Kids Spring Herb Garden Program! Designed for young nature enthusiasts, this hands-on program promises a blooming journey into the world of herbs and gardening.  Children will have the opportunity to help plant an herb garden, fostering a love for nature and teaching them the magic of watching tiny seeds transform into aromatic herbs. The amazing team at For the People and Kids will guide them through the basics of planting, nurturing, and harvesting a variety of herbs perfect for the spring season.  As part of the program, kids will engage in interactive lessons about the importance of herbs, exploring their uses in cooking, and even crafts! Let the planting adventure begin! 

Summer Farm Camp

July 8-August 29, Mon., Tues, Wed, and Thurs., 9-3 PM (full day) or 9-12 PM (half day) No Camp on Fridays

   Join us on the farm for a fantastic outdoor experience designed for kids aged 4-12. Enjoy the flexibility of full-time or part-time sign-ups, whether daily or week-to-week, with the camp running four days a week. This extended timeframe ensures kids can engage in enriching activities like planting, harvesting, and learning about pollinators and decomposers. We'll explore composting, care for farm animals, and foster a strong connection to nature through observations, games, arts, and crafts, and wildlife study. Join us for a summer where your child can connect with the wonders of nature and local agriculture.
